This is a shot to show how the final mounted piece will nore or less look. The thing is so HUGE that it needs two A1 sheets of card, although obviously when finally done, the border around it will not be so wide as it appears now.

I wonder if the width of the blue material still needs to be reduced a little, maybe an inch all round?

Here is a close up of some additional stitches addes to link the pieces together. They are 'escaping' from the piece on the right, or disintegrating from it.

To the right some more escpaed stitches between the other two pieces, and some detail of the stitches attaching the main pieces to the backing fabric.

Hallo, Kathryn, I love to see how your beautiful resolved sample is evolving. To me it looks far more than a resolved sample, are you going to use some part of it also for the final book cover? I do hope to see some posts about it soon ...

Hi there. I am a fellow distant stitcher. I really love the boldness of this design - it's striking. How did you find the distressing aspect of this? I found it really difficult destroying parts of a piece I had lovingly created and didn't want to go too far. My finished piece is on my blogsite if you would like to look. I am on module three now and throughly enjoying it. Happy stitching.

I would love to have the third photo hanging on my wall, it's a piece of art in it's own right!

Did Sian specify whether the bookcover was hardback or could be a scroll? I can't remember if there is a size limit so if there isn't it could be a possibility...

Hi,
Thanks for the encouraging comments. As far as the book cover is concerned - that's now been omitted from module 1 so I have finished this module now, and hope soon to be posting the first bits from mod 2 which is well under way already. I am finally speeding up a bit!
